The rounded, airplane-like WING cabin standing among the trees

Every house at neti neti has its own, unique story. First, we present the story of the WING cabin.

When Lujzi Pados, the daughter of neti neti founder Balázs Pados, was six years old, she flew to America on a KLM plane during a family trip. The huge, distinctive blue aircraft enchanted her, and from then on flying became the highlight of every holiday for her. Balázs travelled a great deal for work, and whenever he came home, he surprised his little girl with small things: in-flight magazines, menus, tiny plastic spoons, airline pillows and blankets. Lujzi began collecting them, and before the next trips she tried to understand and memorise the connections and the airlines' frequent-flyer systems as well as she could.

Then, in Csáford, next to the house now called OTTHON, the idea came up: how nice it would be to have a den of their own for the children. And if it belonged to the children, why shouldn't they design it? As Balázs tells it: “I thought, if I have such a creative daughter and I have the space, the resources and the courage for it, why wouldn't I help make it happen?” The place was given, and so were Lujzi's creativity and resourcefulness — so they dove into the design work.

Lujzi started drawing. Sketches of the rounded fuselage and the wings were born, and when in 2021 the Hello Wood team happened to be working on the neighbouring cabin, the Wauhaus, in Csáford, this dream also landed on the table. Tamás Fülöp, Hello Wood's lead architect, and his team set to work based on Lujzi's plans and guidance, as father and daughter attended the meetings together, so Lujzi was present throughout the entire design process.

They did not want to model a conventional airplane; what floated before their eyes was rather a designer toy object, inside which the atmosphere of century-old ships and aeroplanes blends together. The tiny kitchen, the armchairs rescued from aircraft, the overhead storage all evoke this mood, while the space keeps its playfulness and intimacy.

The airplane house landed among the trees in 2022, but by then Lujzi had grown up and the family's life had rearranged itself, so the cabin did not become entirely the secluded children's den they had dreamed of — instead it became one of the houses that travellers arriving at neti neti can choose as the setting for their time off.
